What are your worship services like?
You can expect a reverent and joyful time of prayer, singing, and hearing God’s word. You may find that our services are more formal than you’re used to. We find this more formal order of worship clearly presents the gospel and equips us for everyday faithfulness. The central part of our worship service is a sermon from God’s Word. Each Sunday we conclude our service by celebrating the Lord’s Supper together.
What do you have for kids?
During Corporate Worship (at 10:30 am), we have a nursery for ages 0-4, though your children are welcome to join you in the worship service.
During the School Year, we have Sunday School for all ages at 9:15 am.
What can I expect at Sunday School?
Sunday School for children involves engaging, age-appropriate instruction from God’s Word. For younger kids, that includs a craft time and some time to play. We prioritize your children’s safety, so we follow the two-adult rule in all childcare settings, and all volunteers are church members who have passed a background check.
Our adult Sunday School class covers a range of topics touching on theology, Christian living, and Bible Study. These classes engage, instruct, and challenge us to grow in knowing God and His truth.
What ministries does the church financially support?
We support 9 Marks, a ministry that helps pastors, future pastors, and church members build healthy churches.
We also support individual Christian workers who work with Reaching & Teaching, Frontiers, and the Texas Baptist Student Ministry.
What is your practice of Baptism and membership?
Baptism is how a church recognizes someone as a believer in Jesus Christ and how an individual Christian goes public with their faith in Christ. At KBC we believe baptism should ordinarily accompany joining the church as a member. Thus, it is our practice to baptize children who profess faith only when they are ready to take on the duties of church membership and submit to church’s discipline, which is normally in their mid to late teens.
Is KBC a member of a church denomination or association?
Our church is a member of The Pillar Network, which is a doctrinally aligned, kingdom-minded church planting and revitalization network within the Southern Baptist Convention. Our cooperation with the Southern Baptist Convention means we join together with other SBC churches to support international missions, church planting, and theological education.
What Is your music like?
Our musical accompaniment is simple in order to encourage the voices of the congregation to sing out together. We sing hymns that focus on the richness of the gospel.
What are the sermons like?
Our pastor explains and applies a passage of the Bible. Next Sunday, we look at the next passage in that same book of the Bible (often called Expositional Preaching).
What should I wear to church?
You will find people dressed in everything from their Sunday best to shorts and t-shirts.
