Our Story
In 2017 Covenant Church of Spring and Mills Road Baptist Church merged to form Christ Our Savior Baptist Church. After selling MRBC’s property, we have been patiently looking for our next permanent home. Over the last several years, the Lord has enabled us to grow our building fund. Members have given generously to create budget surpluses. Safe investments have generated consistent returns. We have saved enough to make a substantial down payment and are now under contract to purchase an existing church building at 19315 Ella Blvd in Klein, Texas.
Our Goals
Through investing in this building, we hope to establish a center of gospel ministry for generations to come. We are seeking to raise an additional $250,000 to facilitate two aspects of ministry:
Worship & Relationships
Evangelizing the next Generation
Worship & Relationships
We intend to be a church built on the preaching of God’s word and relationships with one another. To facilitate our philosophy of ministry, here we are considering these projects
Worship Hall Renovation
Improve Lighting
Replace Flooring
Painting & Face Lift
Install a Baptistry
Entry and Fellowship Hall Renovation:
Remove interior walls
Create a new flex space for fellowship meals and small group meetings.
Evangelizing the next generation
As one preacher has put it, the most unreached people group are those who have yet to be born. Here are two ways we are thinking about the future:
Repair and Improve Property Essentials
To ensure this property is useful for gospel ministry for generations to come, we plan to repair and improve some property essentials: repairing potholes in the parking lot, connecting to city water and sanitary sewer, replacing siding, and remodeling the aging bathrooms.
Financial Freedom
By God’s grace, we can afford the ongoing debt service, but we know that we can free ourselves up for future ministry by paying it off ahead of schedule.
How do we plan to apportion the money?
Our planned projects to improve the facility are still taking shape. Once we are in the space and using it regularly, we will a better sense of where to prioritize our spending. Generally speaking, we envision the breakdown like this:
~40% / $100,000 towards near term renovations to our Worship Hall. Construction costs and how much we raise will determine how soon we can begin work on the Entry and Fellowship Hall.
~30% / $75,000 000 towards medium term repairs and improvements to property essentials. We will create a plan for tackling these larger projects in phases over the next 5 to 10 years.
~30% / $75,000 towards lowering our debt.
